Munnar, Kumarakom, Kulamavu

Description:

Day 1: Cochin – Munnar
Arrive at Cochin in the morning and drive to Munnar (140km /4 hours). In the afternoon, you will visit the tea gardens and echo point, followed by speed boating at the Mattupetty dam. This dam is bordered by forests on one side and tea plantations on the other. Overnight at Munnar.

Day 2: Munnar
Visit Rajamala, home to the highly endangered mountain goats - the Nilgiri Thars. Next, head to Marayoor to visit the Muniyaras Caves dating back to Stone Age. On the way back, visit the sandalwood forests and Lakkam waterfalls. Overnight at Munnar.

Day 3: Munnar – Kumarakom
Drive to Kumarakom. Check in at the backwater resort. Spend the rest of the day at leisure and absorb the tranquil, luscious beauty of the backwaters. Overnight at Kumarakom.

Day 4: Kumarakom- Kulamavu
Drive to Kulamavu. Visit the Kulamavu dam. Take a two-hour cruise between Cheruthoni and Kulamavu dams. One can spot wild elephants on the way.

Day 5: Kulamavu – Cochin
After a morning of leisure, proceed to Cochin (85km) for a bit of shopping and for return journey.
